Sarah has gone from wanting to do smoochies with Adam at new year to introducing Damon to Audrey and Gail as her boyfriend at a Platt family lunch in the Bistro. I mean - a Rodwell-Roberts-Platt-Barlow-Hay lunch. What could go wrong? Well Adam rocking up of course and saying he doesn't want Damon staying over at the flat whilst Harry's there. It is his flat, I believe? Sarah tells him Harry isn't even his, which even gets a reaction from Audrey who has a "seen it all before" expression on her face. "The apple doesn't fall from the tree," she tells Gail when her daughter says that Sarah likes a bad boy. For once, Adam has a point: hanging out with gangsters didn't end well for an offshoot of the Platt family - Natasha. After Damon visits Harvey in chokey to warn him off doing anything like crushing his car ever again, Adam also visits him (during the same day? HMP Weatherfield is very liberal with its visiting hours) and says they can work together to get rid of Damon. Adam isn't thinking this through very clearly - what if Harvey makes up with Damon and they start working together? It'd be like the Krays of M10, the Mitchell brothers of the north west. However, I can see Damon and David getting along, they're both sarky and vindictive but very protective of their ladies.
In other less gangstery news, Max needs to practice hair cutting on someone and Sabrina sensibly tuns him down. The salon probably does need a stylist who knows how to cut Black hair though. Lauren lets him loose on her barnet and afterwards the three plus Gav have a "party" at number 8. Gav is not impressed with Lauren being there, calling her a "bigot". Gav, she's an ex-bigot! A recovering racist. She goes to White Supremacist Anonymous nowadays. By the end of the evening he seems quite taken with her, but she runs off as her boyfriend has contacted her. I've just thought. Lauren's older boyfriend isn't Harvey is it? She might have met him whilst visiting her dad.
Anyway, we need more Gav. I know Noah Olaoye might be busy with his TikToks but he needs an actual storyline, in my view. Team him up with Carla's new nephew and let them cause some mischief.
In repetitive news, Joseph is ill again but gets short shrift from Chesney. I've read the spoilers and have seen that Gemma is going to be vindicated, so let's hope Ches eats humble pie with his kebab that day. Gemma's too good for him anyway, as was Katie as was Sinead and her beard oil. Anyway a new pigeon is amongst the cats, as Linda turns up and offers to pay for Chesney's legal costs should he go for full custody of his large brood, and that's even before she's found out about the social services order.
In Alahan news, Aadi finds out that Asha was in the flat whilst he was unconcious but didn't alert anyone and its his turn to be the angry twin. I suppose leaving your bro to potentially die is worse than kissing your sister's girlfriend. He moves back into Dev's, Nina move back into Roy's and Evelyn goes back to the Stape-Dobbs house to look after the girls, and Cassie, whilst Tyrone is on holiday in Italy with Fiz. Status quo resumed! Do you think Les Battersby's still on tour with them?
Finally, my line of the night goes to Dame Maureen: “I’m still above ground so I suppose everything’s all right”.
Rachel Stevenson - new year, same social media
Linda looks like she's had some work done on her face, without achieving the best results unfortunately
