Coronation Street has cast former Brookside star Simon O'Brien for a new romance storyline, Digital Spy reveals today.
Simon is best known as Brookside's Damon Grant, and has landed the role of Sean Tully's new fella, Frank Bardsley.
A Corrie insider told Digital Spy: "While Sean is smitten, there may be more to Frank than meets the eye. Frank went to school with local undertaker George Shuttleworth, who knows details about his past and is wary of him. Is Frank the same guy that George knew all those years ago, or has he changed his ways?"
Digital Spy understands that Frank is a guest character who'll be appearing on screen for the next couple of months.

OMStars! I LOVE Simon O'Brien! X
ReplyDeleteThere is never a new character nowadays who doesn't have some dark secret. I am delighted to hear Simon is joining the cast though.
ReplyDeleteOh great. Another 'new character with a secret'. Yawn
ReplyDeleteGood actor but been involved with that annoying drama queen wont do him any favours
ReplyDeleteI thought oh no. He’s so smug and superior on The Great House Giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHe was great in Brookside. I cried when they killed him off. But I can't stand Sean. He learned nothing from his homeless period. Any storyline leading to his exit is welcome.
ReplyDeleteIf his secret is that he is related to an existing character, I’m not sure that counts these days.
ReplyDeleteI must be in the minority - I get a great laugh out of Sean and I think he's great fun and underused lately. I wish they'd find a decent partner for him.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Long overdue!
