  1. Simply puzzled as to why pregnancies seem to be to unmarried or in a relationship couples lately? Why are there so many death issues, I'm sure I'm not imagining these issues?
The world is mixed up enough as it is, hardly any joy in this Street.

  2. You said it anon...it seems to be what the newer viewers want..death, pregnancy, drug overdoses....the exciting stuff.
Gone are the days of selling a bingo carpet to the likes of Annie Walker, the breaking of deidre's glasses (big one!) the twittering of Mavis at Rita, gone are the likes of Norris, the factory girls at lunchtime (where is the booming trade that used to happen at the Rovers?)
Yup, there is no joy on the most dangerous street...and now that Cringey is policeman again, we can expect the crime to shoot up.
I've taken to reading the comments and blog more than watching the program...skipping through the boring parts (and there are many) I almost miss Pat Phelan and Anna the screeching fishwife

  4. Stories are being hurriedly tied up post-lockdown. Actors moving on mean the character has to leave somehow. Alexandra Mardell's decision to leave maybe came after Emma had finished with Curtis so Ted's grandson was created to take her to Australia. On the other hand, some actors deciding to stay mean another storyline has to be created. Sam Robertson stays so Adam didn't die when he fell and Lydia just kind of evaporated. Charlie de Melo (Imran) leaving leads to a possible scenario. If Abby stays on the street, the saintly Toyah will co-parent Alfie with her? Character deaths are a form of spring-cleaning eg: Laura. A few months down the line and there will be a new development of shops and housing. Perhaps then, things will settle down a bit. They'll try to lighten it with a Kirk storyline which is a shame because the actor is capable of more than light relief.
