Sad news reaches us today that British actor John Challis has passed away.
John was probably best known for playing shifty used car salesman Aubrey "Boycie" Boyce in classic BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses and its spin-off The Green Green Grass.
He also appeared in Benidorm as Monty 'chips AND rice' Staines too.
And back in the 1960s and 70s, John played two different roles on Coronation Street. His first role was as rowdy football supporter George Naylor in November and December 1967.
He returned to the programme as Det Con, later Det Sgt Norman Phillips appearing in October 1974, January to February 1975 and February 1977.
Our condolences to his family. I was a big fan of John's and will miss his presence on our TV a lot.
