Billy and his sad Santa demeanour say a lot to me about 2020, and, in all honesty, it explains my nonplussed passiveness at this storyline, too. Let us be real for a minute. I am sure Billy & Todd will get back together. I cannot be sure when or even how, but you can bet it is a given. So why bother with this tedious plan involving a random 'yoof' and Paul’s gullibility? If you think back to the Kel's abuse of Paul, Todd is being evil here!
Leanne may be grieving, but Sam’s adorable poindexter persona is making me lose sympathy for her to be honest! It is Nick's flat though so surely she should leave, of course, he can’t say that can he. Ideally, though, we get the little lad on the street for three months. The only downside I can see is seeing less of the lovely Natasha!
Blighted by the boys in blue, Gary and his gangster feathers are being festively ruffled, but can he keep his cool? If the cops search the woods for long enough, surely Gary will end up stuffed like a Christmas turkey! Even his alibi is a lie, and Maria has never been one for overthinking, so can we assume Sarah will somehow cover for the murder? We know he killed Rick, but then what about Adam? Is it just me getting confused by these ever-shifting allegations, alibis, and plot crossovers?
And then there is the Platt relationship. Like Leanne and Nick, I would guess David and Shona may reunite anyway, but will life ever be the same again? Shona is irreversibly a changed personality (polarising viewers from what I have read online) so can they ever be together properly? The split announcement to friends was a mixed bag, and I preferred Nina and her artwork to Daisy and her flirtatious offering, but as I say, I think it's only short-term?
Not letting Corona put them off, I am glad Corrie have got this Christmas market down on Victoria Street, are you?! Gemma and Ches remind me of a proper working-class couple, of the original corrie lineage, so it works for me, you could well imagine them selling kids clothes on eBay, otherwise. Obviously, with the whole tier/tears debacle people will complain but it is the sorely needed light relief we need, and Kirk always cheers me up. We also need more of Jenny and her dulcet singing tones! It was a strange scene but she's got a lovely vocal all the same! Maybe a duet with Rita is on the cards!
Hope you all have a safe December 25th, I shall be back before the New Year!

I have to disagree about Sam being adorable. He is really irritating. If he is supposed to be so clever he should have known not to mess with Oliver’s toy. I also think that he is really indulged, and by letting him stay with Nick he is just going to get his own way and that adults are just going to do what he wants.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but my sympathy is with Leanne who is grieving Oliver and missing him over Christmas and that her feelings are not considered only Nick's[who seems to have gotten over Oliver's death rather quickly] and Sam who is as self absorbed and spoiled[sorry].
ReplyDeleteI don't like seeing a grieving mother struggling to deal with her first Christmas without her son being made the 'villian'.
