Here comes trouble - meet Jenny's step daughter Daisy

A new arrival spells trouble for Jenny when step daughter Daisy turns up on Coronation Street.

The character of Daisy Midgeley will be played by 25 year old Charlotte Jordan. Daisy is the daughter of Jenny’s ex husband who she raised as a teen.

The pair were close, but when Jenny’s son died and her marriage broke down she left that life behind.

However, they’ve always kept in touch and Jenny’s thrilled when Daisy arrives on the Street to visit, but as she makes herself at home in the Rovers it soon becomes clear that there’s a lot more to Daisy than her sweet name suggests.

Daisy is full of fun and a serious minx to boot, the residents of Weatherfield better watch out!

Producer Iain MacLeod explains: “Daisy might seem like sweetness and light at first, but can be a maelstrom of minxy mischief when the mood takes her. She revels in devilment and can be very self-serving, but she’s fiercely loyal to those she cares about - although her loyalties can change in a heartbeat. Above all, she will bring chaos and conflict into Jenny’s life, as her stepmum tries to make up for walking out on her some years ago.”

Charlotte, whose previous credits include Netflix drama Free Rein, said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a well-beloved and iconic show like Corrie during its 60th anniversary and especially whilst living in such uncertain times. Daisy has been a delight to play so far with her lack of filter and flirty nature but there’s certainly more to her than meets the eye. I’m excited to flesh her out and see what lies ahead for hers and Jenny’s relationship.”

  1. For the love of God not another character! The show can't even manage the ones it's got! And this is Jenny's step daughter who, until a week or so ago, had never been mentioned before... Not contrived at all.

  2. Yes, I get so fed-up of long-lost abandoned children turning up.

  3. Here’s my prediction for ‘Daisy’: Immediately upon her arrival she’ll land a job at Underworld before quickly being promoted to senior manager despite having no actual experience. Then she’ll embark on an affair with Peter, or Adam, or Daniel, or Tracy even as we know she swings both ways (any of the Barlows but Ken). Then, she’ll wind up spawning another of Steve McDonald’s offspring - either that or she’ll discover that Steve is actually her biological father. And then, once she’s had her issue-based storyline and has been held at gunpoint at least once, she’ll fade into the background and become another boring character devoid of a personality, of which there are many. Sound about right?

    1. LOL - I love Corrie, contrived, ludicrous stories and all but your comment really made me laugh. So spot onπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  4. Anon at 11.03,definitely about right. There was a storyline where Jenny returned to get some money from Rita so maybe she'll sweet talk Jenny out of some cash. Sounds like a female Todd in some ways. What might be fun is if Daisy struck up a friendship with a female resident her own age - Emma, perhaps. We need more friendships on the Street like Amy and Asha.

  5. There’s about 80 casts members now, not sustainable. Most of the characters serve no real purpose anyway. Why keep them all on? Is the producer afraid to get rid of them or something?

  6. She sounds like a clone of Tracy, did we ever hear Jenny speak of her?

  7. She's probably been brought in to shake up a solid relationship - to split Peter and Carla up, Kevin and Abi, or a younger couple such as Ryan and Alya, Gary and Maria or Sarah and Adam.
Or maybe, with the exit of Kate, Sophie, Paula and Rana, she's gay and will get involved with Tracy Barlow!

  8. She shares a surname with Peter's ex wife so I predict she will be his long lost daughter.

  9. She will get a job in five minutes (doesn't anyone ask how much they will be paid) and probably pick a fight with Gemma. We DO NOT NEED another character! What are the writers thinking?
