Revealed: Sleazy Ray's secret plans for Weatherfield

In this week's Inside Soap magazine, there's a teaser about sleazy Ray. Not only is he after the Platts' house and had the sinkhole created to try to force the Platts out so he can buy the property and land, now his sights are set even higher.
As Nick wants to raise funds to send Oliver overseas to get the care that Leanne thinks will save his life, Nick approaches Ray to see if he wants to buy his share of Underworld.
However, although Ray is secretly plotting to buy up all of the Street's neighbouring properties he turns down Nick's offer to buy into Underworld and instead insists on donating ten thousand pounds into Oliver's medical fund.
Meanwhile, Steve arranges the sale of both Streetcars and Preston's Petals with an estate agent who confirms that a cash buyer is prepared to snap up both businesses.  Is Ray the mystery buyer and if that's the case, why doesn't he want Underworld too?
Mark Frost, who plays Ray, tells Inside Soap that his scheming character might not be around for the long-haul. He says: "I was told that he might burn fast and bright possibly for a year - so I'm already on borrowed time!"

  1. I think Ray might end up in the sinkhole if he's not careful...Mabye another victim of gangster Gary?

  2. It's strange though that he wouldn't openly accept Nick's offer to buy into the factory because it's obvious Ray wants it. What's his game here?

  3. Cant wait for this storyline to unfold.

  4. If it's property he's after, then he'd need to deal with Gary to get the factory itself. Nick owns Underworld business shares, not the premises.

  5. I'm guessing that this storyline might have its climax in December, for the anniversary week.

  6. The Canadian nailed it. Ray wants the factory, not the shares. I kind of like the character of Ray....we need a sleazy villan, one with a little style and not a Gary or Phelan. I'd like to see him end up in a relationship with say Carla, after she and Peter split
