Coronation Street Episode Review Friday 12 June

Evening Corrie fans it’s Kelly here with your Friday night review.

Have you been wondering where dodgy lodger Scott has disappeared to? Well fear not, he hasn’t been blinded by one of Sean’s dodgy jackets and fallen down the cellar steps. At the start of tonight's episode he pops up eating his breakfast in the Rovers bar long enough to let Carla know that he and Johnny have history and that back in the late 70’s Johnny was a bit dodgy. Then he disappears again. I doubt we’ll see him for another three months now.

Over at No. 4 Tim is unsubtly trying to persuade his horrible father to move back to his own home, after Sally wisely said she didn’t want the hideous waste of organs under her roof. Geoff finally gets the message and packs his bags. I wonder who’s going to do all the fanatical house cleaning now that he’s managed to get his slave locked up? Later, Tim moans to Eileen about everyone being against his dad and is surprised when she says he should consider that Yasmeen is telling the truth. Apparently Eileen always thought there was something ‘a bit off’ about Geoff. It’s just a pity this sixth sense about sociopaths didn’t kick in during the two years she was married to Pat Phelan.

In other news,  Adam is still trying to chat up Kelly’s mum Laura to get info on Gary, and Daniel is boring everyone to tears with a story about how Bertie used to love avocado and now can’t stand it. I don’t know how he can afford to feed an 18-month-old avocado when he hasn’t worked for nearly a year. Surely they should both be living on gruel by now? Meanwhile Leanne is worrying over Oliver regressing and being unable to make a building brick tower.

Finally a shifty looking Scottish girl, (we know she’s shifty because she’s got scraped back hair and hoop earrings, which seems to be Corrie shorthand for scally), turns up in the corner shop with a sob story and cons Cathy and Toyah out of £15. She’s clearly no master criminal because she then immediately goes to the nearest pub and spends it on a double vodka and tonic. It’s obvious that she knows Carla but the lovely Ms Connor seems to have no recollection of her. After filming Carla on her mobile she follows her to the ladies’ loo for a chat. The bar would be a better place to talk Carla demurs, but shifty Scottish scally replies ‘Do you really want your pals to find out how I know you?’
Ooh what do we think her story is?

That’s all for tonight folks. I’m off to enjoy my lockdown birthday. What? No really I’m 29, I’ve just had a hard life!
