5 reasons to be Corrie cheerful

I'm writing this blog post more to ease my mental state of mind than anything else with you-know-what going on in the world. But I do hope it might bring a smile to your face too. And let's see how many of these you might agree with me on.

If you'd like to write a blog post for us, do get in touch. Details are at the bottom of this blog post.

So, let's crack on with five things that are making me smile on Coronation Street right now.

1. Claudia and Evelyn are Corrie comedy gold. And as Merseytart pointed out in his wonderful 5 Things We Learned This Week in Corrie, posted here today, the two actors live together in Manchester while they're filming. Can you imagine the conversations those two must have when they've finished work for the day and are sitting on the sofa soaking their corns in gin?  I can't wait for Evelyn to be invited into Claudia's posh new pad at Stillwaters.

2. Geoff and Yasmeen. Now then, I know there's not a lot to smile about at the moment with these two. But knowing that Geoff will get his comeuppance some day soon is enough to keep me going for now.

3. Corrie is going to three nights a week.  I know this is happening because of you-know-what and Corrie are protecting its cast and crew by cutting down on the number of episodes being filmed. Read more on that here.  And so, this is a sort of semi-reason to be cheerful, if you like. I'm glad it's happening, but obviously, saddened about the reason why. Three episodes a week though! It'll be like being a schoolchild all over again, sitting on the sofa watching Elsie Tanner with my grandma.

4. Jonathan Harvey. Damon Alexis-Rochefort. Carmel Morgan. Insert name of your favourite Corrie writer here.  That skip of your heart when the writer's name comes up at the start of the show and it's your favourite writer putting words into characters that live and breathe on screen.  Find out all about the Coronation Street writing team at Coronation Street Blog: Exclusive: All Current Corrie writers online

5. Classic Corrie. You'l find it in the nether regions of the ITV channels and what a joy it is. Tune in, turn on, cuddle up and have a brew.

We're all in this together. And as long as our blogging team are fit and well, we'll be bringing you Corrie updates, reviews, news, competitions to win stuff, opinion pieces and a whole host of other things for fans that remain unavailable anywhere else online - for as long as we flaming well can.
