Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 24th February
Number 1 Coronation Street is up for sale, much to Tracy and Peter's displeasure, but mostly Tracy's, until she comes up with the idea of buying it, and getting a discount to boot. When Peter finds out that his own (step)sister is making him homeless he puts in a higher bid, and Tracy-luv says she can match it. Why don't they both buy it, all move in together? Comedy platinum?
More quad stuff - I understand that parenthood is overwhelming and viewers will relate to that but I can't help but feel that Gemma having one or, at the most, two kids would have had the same effect. It's hard to have 4 babies, it'll be hard when they have four 2 year olds (quaddlers?) running around it'll be hard when there are four tweens. It's endless! I do wonder if someone in the writers room said: What haven't we done yet? and someone else said: Quads!
Anyway, Gemma decides that her face needs to be the first and last thing Aled sees so she starts a vigil next to his cot. Chesney makes a mobile with Gemma's face on it, books Gemma and the babies in for a baby sensory class, and learns BSL for I Love You. What a guy, hey.
Meanwhile, Abi is up dung creek without a paddle when Rotten Ray reveals that he has dash-cam footage of Abi torching his car and offers to destroy the evidence in return for some afternoon, erm, fun in a hotel. Was Ray pals with Phelan? Did they swap misogynistic tips? Ray gives Abi some lingerie to wear and then takes a picture of her in it. He then tells her that she disgusts him and throws her out in the corridor. And that's not where it ends; he turns up at number 13 and demands that Kevin hand over the garage in return for the dash-cam footage. I'm not sure a backstreet mechanics fits in with Ray's hotel and restaurant portfolio, does it?
Talking of Ray, Bethany has been turned down for 2 jobs, and believes that Ray Weinstein is blacklisting her, so Sarah offers her a sales job in the factory, unfortunately working alongside Bully Beth. The latter accuses her of trying to steal Sinead's life. Well, at least she's not after her beard oil.
Finally, Dishy Danny turns up to number 3 to dump James. Danny says that he can't be in the closet and he doesn't want James to come out because it will ruin his career as a footballer. What exactly is James's career? He's talked about as if he's the next Wayne Rooney, but at the same time, various people ask him if he's starting on Saturday. He's a bit too old to be a boy wonder. Also, as an aside, if Weatherfield County are in, say, League 2 (Division 4 in old money), James'd be earning around £50K a year (i did some research), so he could've helped out when the Baileys were in debt? Or if Ed wouldn't allow it, surely James would have his own bachelor flat, especially as - until recently - he had a secret love life. Anyway, looks like he'll need to find a new fella.

Deja vu. Abi is with Kevin and Ray is trying to get her to have sex with him to keep quiet. Go back...Phelan had forced Anna to have sex with him to keep quiet....Anna ended up with Kev. Recycling on Corrie....
