Michael Elwyn joins Coronation Street

Actor Michael Elwyn will be joining Coronation Street when Ken and Claudia move into their retirement community of Stillwaters.

Ken is delighted to discover that his old friends Norris and Freda are already settled in to life there but when he crosses swords with fellow resident Charles played by Michael Elwyn it looks as though there may be just as much drama as there was on the cobbles.

An actor for many decades, Michael Elwyn has also appeared in Crossroads, Doctor Who, The Avengers, The Brothers, The Mallens, Rumpole of the Bailey, Piece of Cake, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, This Life, The Bill and regular roles in Doomwatch, The Regiment, Bad Girls, Robin Hood and Stella.

On the big screen he has been in Decline and Fall…of a Birdwatcher and One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing.  Oh, and he shares the same birth date as me!

He's been in Coronation Street before, back in 1969.  Read more on that at Corriepedia.

Find out who else is joining, leaving or taking a break from the show.
