John Henshaw joins Corrie for its 10,000th episode


British TV and film acting legend John Henshaw will turn up in Corrie's 10,000th episode next week.

Episode number 10,000 will be screened on Friday 7 February and will see the street's residents head off to Blackpool on a coach. John Henshaw plays the coach driver.

He first appeared in Coronation Street in December 1996 as Irish musician Mick Murphy and in the spin-off DVD Romanian Holiday as the loutish Glen.

Born in Ancoats, Manchester in 1951, Henshaw was a binman who decided to become an actor the the age of 40. His first television role was in G.B.H. and this has been followed up by a string of high-profile parts in programmes such as The Royle Family, The Cops, Early Doors, Born and Bred, Life on Mars and the films Looking for Eric and Going Postal.
