Corrie Rita: "I fear the axe" - says The Daily Star

Walking past a newsagent yesterday, the headline on the front cover of The Daily Star caught my eye, as it tends to do when the word Corrie in in it.

This time, the tabloid says that Barbara Knox, who plays Rita Tanner, "fears the axe" at the show and is frightened she's being written out.

Who knows if it's true?

If you want to you can read it here.

And you read my thoughts on it here.

  1. What quality of personal life does this woman have if she is not able to retire at her age. I love the character, but I wonder about the person....

    1. Lots of actors never retire. We often see her character once a fortnight so this is like a part-time job at most. She's probably at home with friends and family all the days we don't see her. Many retired seniors volunteer to keep themselves occupied and involved with the younger generations but Barbara Knox gets paid to do just that. I'd never quit if I were in her shoes.

  3. I think this is taking something from the storyline and running with it as truth in real life. I'll wait to see what ACTUALLY happens.
