Coronation Street fave to switch on Scarborough lights

Yorkshire Coast Radio today report that Chris Gascoigne, who plays Peter Barlow, will be switching on the Christmas lights in Scarborough.

Chris will be lighting up Scarborough’s town centre for Christmas on Thursday 14 November, during the town’s Big Light Switch-On spectacular.

He’ll be joined on stage by Twinnie Lee Moore, a Yorkshire actress and singer with stage and screen credits including Oscar-nominated film The Wife (alongside Glenn Close, Jonathan Pryce and Christian Slater), Twinnie is a country music singer, acclaimed as a Rolling Stone ‘stand-out’ act in 2019, and currently on tour with Kiefer Sutherland.

Chris said: “I love Scarborough, we used to bring the children here when they were young, and it had everything to offer the family.  I love Christmas and spending time with the family.  They’re all grown up now and doing their own thing.  So, it makes it special when we’re all together.  That’s why I’m looking forward to the Big Light Switch-On - it’s great to see all the smiling faces and celebrate the beginning of the festivities with the crowd.”
