Tonight in Coronation Street, the previews tell us that "Eileen bids an emotional farewell to Seb and heads off to the hospital to start her new life with Jan."
I'm voting for a great big fat YAY on this one. I think Eileen should go with Jan. She should leave the street, well, only for a little while as I don't want to lose Sue Cleaver from Corrie of course.
Eileen's life puts the Grim into Grimshaw. I say let her take a bit of happiness with Jan while she can, where she can. And if that means sending her to Birmingham, then so be it.
And it'll leave Mary to move into No. 11 to lodge with and become second mum to Seb. Now that has got to be a lot of fun.
But what do you think? Should Eileen move away with Jan - Yay or Nay?

Corrie's so different now. Years ago, it was easy to invest in characters and say this or that one deserved a bit of happiness/comeuppance/whatever. These days, unless the character is played by an extremely good actor eg: Phelan/Conan McIntyre, I care about very few residents. Eileen can leave and we'd soon forget her. I still think Jan will come to a sticky end. Perhaps on the way to the airport, meaning Eileen will return to the Street alone.
ReplyDeleteYes, but only for a brief time, like when he is actually cleared, his record expunged, and whatever fallout for Europeans under Brexit is settled (Eileen as tv’s first Brexit Bride???). I like both character too much to want to lose them. I also expect them to return with healthy Aberdeen tans.
ReplyDeleteBe nice if she took Gemma and Chesney too!
ReplyDeleteJeanie: I like Jan so for his sake...NOOOOO! Where ever Eileen goes death and disaster will surely follow.
ReplyDeleteBut I gained the impression from the spoilers that Eileen would ultimately stay, so Jan and her love for him will become a perfect memory, never tested by the trials and tribulations of Coronation Street.
