Cath Tyldesley, who played Eva Price in Coronation Street, has revealed that ITV stopped her from doing Strictly Come Dancing while she worked on the show.
As we know, Corrie actors have been allowed to join other, er, ITV reality TV shows such as I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and Dancing on Ice, but it seems that joining a BBC reality show, while under contract at ITV was not allowed.
In an interview with The Sunday Post, Cath says: “When you’re in Corrie they’re not going to let you… they won’t let you do it. They’ll only let you do ITV things like Dancing On Ice.”
Explaining her love for the programme, she said: “I’m a massive fan of the show. Huge fan of the show. And it’s like my husband said – we watch it every year, but now I’m actually doing it. I’m like: ‘Oh, it’s not quite the same as watching it on the telly, it’s all a bit real.’ But yeah, the opportunity to learn a new skill.”

That sounds fair enough to me...you wouldn't work for one company and expect them to be ok with you moonlighting for another company. Common sense really.
ReplyDeleteOk, great news! Hope Ms. Tyldesley can get this out of her system then come on back to Coronation Steet!xo
