When Corrie's D S Beckett led Hayley Cropper's funeral

If you thought that Coronation Street copper D S Beckett looked familiar on the show, then that's because she's been on it before and in a high profile role too.

She played the celebrant at Hayley Cropper's humanist funeral.

And not only that, she's actually appeared on Coronation Street in three different roles:
  • Solicitor Jo Marsh in March 1996
  • Humanist celebrant Suzie Forrester in January 2014
  • DS Beckett, appearing between March and July 2019 investigating the collapse of Underworld's roof.
Born in Leeds, she trained at Rose Bruford College in the 1970s and since then has worked extensively in film, theatre, television and radio with appearances in Ain't Misbehavin, Seaforth (with Linus Roache), Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Queer as Folk, The Bill, Clocking Off, The Bill, Doctors and, on the big screen, The Full Monty, Oranges and Sunshine and The Comedian.

She also writes and directs and is a prize-winning poet. With thanks to Corriepedia.
