What's your Coronation Street claim to fame? It's Friday, so let's have a bit of fun. Doesn't matter how tenuous the link is, let's hear it.
For instance. My brother worked in Manchester for a few years and one day he sent me a text message. This was in the days before Corrie moved to its new site at Salford Quays, it was when they were still at the old site near the bottom of Deansgate in Manchester.
Anyway, brother sent me a text to say he was in a cafe and sitting at the next table to him were Helen Worth (Gail) and Sally Dynevor (Sally). I teased him to lean in and listen to their conversation but he was far too discreet.
So that's my very tenuous Coronation Street claim to fame. Well, the one I'm about to admit in public, anyway!
What's yours? Come on, let's have them.

I met Adam Rickitt when he was in New Zealand and I have had a tour at the old site. Nothing major, really.
ReplyDeleteMum and I recently sent unicorn popsicle makers to Steve and Tiny. Didn't hear if they got them or not, hopefully they did. Maybe ITV can confirm for us if Steve and Tiny got their present or not? Loving the unicorn party storyline.

ReplyDeleteTwo family friends, both musicians, supported themselves with work as Corrie extras. I was interviewed by BBC 5 Live on how Americans view Corrie following Tony Warren’s death.
ReplyDeleteConnor McIntyre liked one of my tweets once. That's it. That's all I've got. 😂
ReplyDeleteA long ago and rather tenuous connection. Before we were married, my husband rented a house in Manchester from Betty Alberge - Florrie Lindley.
ReplyDeletewas on the old granda tour in 1993 when they were filming so saw Sally, Martin and the two original kids who played rosie and david

I've met Tony Booth and shook his hand (Cherie's Blair's dad) at a local Labour party press meeting. Tony was Pat Phoenix's partner.
ReplyDeleteAlso, back in the 1990's, I received a lovely letter from Corrie scriptwriter Jan McVerry. Thank you, Jan.
I wanted to know how to get into TV script-writing. Alas,I never made it!
Who are you Southstack???
ReplyDeleteHaha...I live in Canada so I've never really had an opportunity to rub shoulders with any Corrie Actors.
But...I was raised on Corrie in tiny town in Northern Canada..I was pregnant at the same time as the characters Sally and Gail (due Dec.26)
I am definitely going to play the theme song at my funeral(drive my family crazy as they hate it)
Once gave Corrie up for Lent.
That's about it...haha, not nearly as great as the ones I've read..but..it's all I got!
Me & my friends went to go see Hugh Jackman in Manchester and saw Tina O'Brien, Charlie de Melo and Julia Goulding in the car park.
