Nikki Sanderson, who played Candice Stowe on Coronation Street is currently starring in Hollyoaks as Maxine Minniver.
Interview on ITV's Lorraine this week, Nikki revealed that she'd never rule out a return to Coronation Street. Well, as a jobbing actor, you wouldn't, would you? But I love this sort of gossip, so here goes!
Nikki said in the interview: "At the moment I’m definitely on Hollyoaks for a while, but Coronation Street will always have a special place in my heart. I love it and I love the people and I just loved every second of it."
After producers played some old clips of her character Candice with Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien), she said, "Quite a lot of the clips people show I do remember but I don’t remember and it’s so lovely to see them all. In all honesty, with people on the street I get 50 percent of people shouting Candice and 50 percent shouting Maxine so a lot of people still reference me as Candice rather than Maxine."
As soap exists go, being hairdresser to Status Quo wasn't a bad way for Maxine to leave Coronation Street. Might be nice for her to blow back into her mate Sarah's life for a while, especially if Sarah marries Adam Barlow. Say what? Oh yes, read it here!

I don't think Sarah was that good a friend to Candice as she slept with Jason fully aware that Candace had feelings for him.
ReplyDeleteSo far the over hyped returns of Martin,Toyah and Fiona have been disappointments and I don't want another hyped return to justify a storyline for Sarah when the Platts are featured too much already and there are underused characters who are not getting a fair share of storylines.
