Jane Danson rescues dog from Dogs Trust Manchester

Her on screen character may often seem to be the one that needs rescuing, but Coronation Street actress Jane Danson has been the one doing the rescuing away from the cobbles.

Jane, who plays Leanne Battersby in the soap, and her husband, Rob Beck, have welcomed two-year-old Labrador Millie into their lives after adopting her from Dogs Trust Manchester – and Jane and Rob, who have two young sons, say she is the perfect addition to their family.

Jane says:  "Both myself and Rob grew up with dogs and we had been looking to adopt for a while. We went along to Dogs Trust Manchester and were introduced to Millie as the staff felt she could be the one for us, and they were right. From the moment we met her we knew she would be perfect for us and she has settled in brilliantly. She is never happier than when playing with balls, a minimum of two, she loves running in the water in the park and she gives the best cuddles to the whole family."

"We feel so lucky to have Millie in our lives. It feels like she has been here forever. We would encourage anyone wanting to welcome a dog into their family to rescue and give a dog a second chance at being part of a family that adores them, like we do! Visiting Dogs Trust Manchester has definitely changed our lives for the better. We are so excited about sharing every day with Millie for many years to come."

  1. Well done Jane! If only more people would adopt rescue dogs rather than buying an expensive badly bred cavachon, jug, cockapoo etc etc.
