This just in from ITV Jobs.
Fancy working on our world famous cobbles?
Coronation Street are looking for a Script Editor to join our busy hard working editorial team who ensure that every single one of our episodes is top-drawer telly.
Your role will involve attending and contributing to story conferences. In script meetings, you will submit creative and structural notes to the Producer(s), advising of major continuity, technical and cast challenges and finding ways to overcome them. You will then work with the writers, in an open and creative manner, to help them implement these notes. You will follow your scripts through all the stages of production, from pre-production to editing, dealing with various levels of personnel including researchers, directors and cast - so strong communication skills are a must.
You must demonstrate previous drama script-editing experience. You should be focussed, be able to work under pressure and meet the deadlines of a rolling production schedule. You should be conscientious and have a creative but logical mind.
This role may require working long and unsocial hours - but it’s an excellent opportunity to prove yourself in the nation’s top soap, working with the best writers and characters in the medium.
If you’re up for the challenge, in a role where no two days are ever the same, apply now!
Closing date for applications: Monday 15th July 2019

'ensure that every single one of our episodes is top-drawer telly'
ReplyDeleteITV sure are deluded.
Indeed, and as 'focused' is misspelt as 'focussed', perhaps someone who can spell should be a qualification? The only way Corrie can be improved at the moment is to make the producer and the writers watch Classic Corrie for a week to show how it should be done.
