Just how did Sarah Platt learn to drive - and buy - a car?

Two things struck me as odd this week on Coronation Street. The first was Chesney driving a car to his holiday with Gemma. I didn't know Chesney had a car, did you? I can understand him being able to drive as he must have been able to do so when he had his market stall many moons ago.

Which brings us on nicely to Sarah Platt and her lovely little blue car.

I don't think we've ever seen Sarah drive before, have we? Or indeed, be able to afford a car.

After the mistake Corrie made a couple of weeks ago when they forgot that Maria had been married - and not just the once, but twice - before, let's hope these little errors stop soon. It's annoying.

  1. Isn’t she sleeping in David’s floor? If so then her affording a car makes no sense!

  2. Yes, the expanding wallets of Weatherfield! For drinks in the boozer and now cars. Chesney did say to Emma outside the flat that the car is new, unlike the camper-van that he borrowed from Paul.

  3. It wasn't so long ago that Sarah was angry at Gary because he couldn't pick up Harry from nursery school because he was busy with work and now suddenly she has a car?!
If Sarah can afford a car, then she and Gary can get their own flat and stop sponging off David!

  4. Yes, I commented on this yesterday. Characters acquire cars when the storyline demands it!

I agree with all this - where do people park their cars? Where do the residents of Victoria court park their cars? Most flats have some kind of car parking area.
