Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 6th March 8.30pm

As promised, here is part two of this Wednesday's  Corrie, all wrapped up in a handy blog review.

Seb's birthday soon turns sour as a soaped up Sarah confesses that her birthday surprise to him is actually a haircut!. Scaring Sarah out of her bubble bath wasn't the birthday treat he had in mind!!.

Celebrating their engagement, Shona and David are happily reunited, and Vin Diesel the weasel is back at the barbers. Champagne is soon on tap as the Platts gather to toast the occasion. A drunken Audrey reunites the family announcing 'new beginnings'.

Geoff is left on his lonesome as Yasmeen flees to The Rovers. Confiding in Claud and Cathy, Yasmeen admits she hasn't slept with Geoff yet and confides she only ever had Sharif as a partner.
Cancelling the dinner date, Yasmeen struggles to confess her secret to Geoff who quickly departs.

At number 8, Sarah tells a shocked Gary about the misunderstanding, and he's obviously fuming now that Seb is back with Faye, and he may have seen Sarah without the soap suds!. Gary soon heads to the party and immediately makes his presence known.

Collaring him in the kitchen, Gary lets Seb know exactly how he feels about his attempt to seduce Sarah. Blackmailing the lad, Gary tells him that he must admit the mistake to Faye or he will.
Faye, quickly sensing animosity, quizzes Gary about why Sarah isn't at the party and why he is threatening her boyfriend. Failing in blackmail, Gary decides to his Sister the truth about her boyfriend. Faye is mortified and Gary lays down the law before leaving.

To paraphrase Eileen 'What a muppet!' - Happy Birthday, Seb!

Anyway, that's all for this Wednesday.

  1. So are we to believe that Gemma was living like a slob the whole time she was a Rita's? No way, Rita would have set her straight. I was totally grossed out when she was eating. And I thought Geoff was a jerk, here's my overnight bag so I say what happens and I dont want to hear otherwise..um get out Geoff!

  2. Well said on both counts. I find Geoff a bit of a creep and his antics are unfunny. Yazmeen deserves someone more cultured, like Ken. She would be a better match for him than flighty narrow-minded Claudia.

  3. Wow what a hyporcrite Gary is,he fathered Nicola's child, made a pass twice at Tina, when she was his and Izzy's surrogate and when she was with David and yet he can't forgive Seb's innocent crush on Sarah?

  4. This was a really bad night for men. David, Seb, Geoff and Gary all got it really really wrong. Chesney was walked all over by a truly disgusting Gemma (Christine, you’re 100% right about Rita). Gary (Anon!) has the brains of a flea on a good day - if the bubble bath booboo had been laughed off instead of turning onto a fight, a threat and an embarrassment for innocent Faye, it could have been turned around into an ongoing comedy point. I haven’t been this done with Gary since the Uncle Len days. Geoff, if after ten months you still can’t talk about what’s important, we’ll, maybe we now know why your son grew up not knowing how to read. And yes, Cocono, I also thought the former librarian would have much more in common with an avid reader, except for that pesky his daughter being responsible for her son’s death thingee.

The only guy who got it completely right on Wednesday was Imran. What a fantastic big brother; this was the best part of the wedding planning so far.

  5. I don't think Ken would be interested in Yasmeen, as she is his intellectual equal, and he needs to feel superior. I am therefore not at all surprised by his preference for Claudia. Sadly.

  6. As an 'older' woman I was interested in how Yasmeen would resolve her apprehension about spending the night with Geoff. I thought the heart to heart with Cathy would be sensitively handled, but no, not only did we have Claudia (who she hardly knows) sticking her oar in, we had the crass intervention from Gemma. What could have been a good storyline was ruined.

  7. So much of what happens now only happens because it's a trigger for something else. Sarah wouldn't have immediately told Gary what happened with Seb, knowing what he'd do. Seb would probably have been terrified by an actual invitation from Sarah. It was setting the scene for hostility between Gary and Seb, and the factory roof storyline. Agree with Pat, believable situation completely wrecked.

  8. Sarah's fallen for somebody who got her pregnant as a teenager, an Internet pervert, a gay man and somebody who jilted her at the altar - not to mention Callum!!! She could have been a bit more compassionate about Seb's crush on her and should NOT have told Gary!!!

    1. Sarah regularly betrays family members without hesitation so her doing this to Seb is no big surprise. This trait is why she's one of my least favorite characters. Even Tracy can often be decent enough not to backstab but Sarah will always jump at the chance to.
