We have an amazing opportunity to join our Talent Pool of Freelance Runners at Coronation Street.

The role of Runner is an entry-level position within the TV Industry. As the name suggests, Runners first and foremost run errands. Responsibilities vary widely, but usually involve conveying messages, looking after cast and crew (making tea and coffee) and follow specific requests from the Producer, Director or Assistant Directors.

The overall responsibility of Runners is to complete whatever task is assigned to them as quickly and as efficiently as possible. As even small details may cause interruptions or delays to filming, all their duties must be carried out rapidly, so that the shoot can progress smoothly.

As our Runner you will be expected to support our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Assistant Directors, help artistes through the costume and make up process and communicate the progress with your team ensuring scripts, camera plans and call sheets are available.

We will look to you to ensure the studio floor and locations have clear access and egress and are kept tidy. You will work on location and in studio keeping your team members informed of any problems and changes throughout the day. Other tasks will include charging radios, providing refreshments for cast and crew and general house-keeping duties.

Our Floor Runner will have a can do attitude and an appreciation and passion for programme making in keeping with Coronation Street’s high production values. In this fast paced role excellent communication skills are a prerequisite as is your ability to deal with people of all levels. Due to the nature of the role you must be able to accept flexible working hours and work with absolute discretion and confidentiality and be able to work with talk back.

To join our Talent Pool you will have experience and credits working as a Runner with a proven interest in and passion for TV. You must have a high level of accuracy, be organised with excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills able to liaise with production and non production staff.

Due to the nature of the role absolute confidentiality is required. These roles require a very flexible approach to work and working hours as you will be required for some out of hours working including some evenings & weekends, Coronation Street is not 9-5.
