Patti Clare, who plays Mary Taylor on Coronation Street, was interviewed on ITV's This Morning today where she was asked whether Norris was returning to the street.
Host Phillip Schofield asked: "And Norris is returning from Peru - allegedly?"
Patti Clare replied: "Allegedly. He's in Peru at the moment, Mary speaks to him often on the phone , so yes, there's a faint sort of whisper that he might be back, maybe, next year."
Let's hope so. Malcolm Hebden, who plays Norris, is away taking an extended leave of absence from the show for this reason.
