Meet Gemma's new boyfriend, Spike

Next week on Coronation Street, we'll see Gemma get herself a new boyfriend with the wonderful name of Spike.

The actor who will play Spike is called Joel Morris - and he's been on Corrie before.

The last time Joel Morris was in Coronation Street he played a character called Chris. Sadly, that's all the information I have on him but if anyone can fill us in on the details, please do!

Joel has also appeared in Emmerdale, Call the Midwife, No Offence, Fortitude and in films such as A Room for Romeo Brass.

But what does Spike want with Gemma and will him turning up on the Street put a spanner in the works for Chesney, who wants Gemma for himself? We'll have to wait and see!

  1. Another new character?!
Why couldn't the writers develop a romance with Gemma and Chesney?

  2. Here’s an idea. Please let Spike kidnap Gemma who is never ever seen again. Yes. Oh dear god my mute button has never been used so much as when that girl comes on the screen.

  3. Gemma to me is an interesting character and I enjoy her stories.

  4. I like Gemma's character too, but I don't think she's a good fit with Chesney. He's okay as a friend, but I think as a boyfriend he'd bore her to tears, and he's not willing to change. We've seen that over and over in his previous relationships.

  5. Sorry but I don't understand how boring, dull, Chesney actually could find two attractive women interested in him. He acts more old than Ken! His idea of a fun night is sitting in the Rovers. The character is well past his sell by date, time to get rid!

  6. Hopefully Henry is now a thing of the past for good.
