The previews are in for next week’s Coronation Street and Nick Tilsley is back on the Street. The previews say that it’s Nick’s feelings for Leanne that bring him back to the street.

I am completely underwhelmed, why are they bringing this dull, boring character back?
ReplyDeleteAmen to the above comment.
DeleteAgree! So dull.
DeleteI am delighted that Ben Price is back as he's a fantastic writer, but please give him something new to do! Do the writers SERIOUSLY think that the third round of Jane Danson/Ben Price within a mere SIX YEARS is remotely passable?!
ReplyDeleteFirst there was there relationship from 2012 - 2014, then 2016 - 2017, do they seriously think there's an appetite amongst viewers for a third attempt so soon?!
For some reason, the writers refuse to ever put Peter and Leanne back together. It feels that they are prepared to put each of them with everyone else on the street - but not each other.
Leanne even resorted to Steve again! And the way things are with Peter, I'm sure a reunion with Toyah is far more likely than one with Leanne. That or Peter and Tyler's mum.
This is all despite them having a son together and despite them only having ONE attempt at a relationship. Unlike Nick and Leanne's thirty thousand attempts.
They have bags of chemistry - all the scenes at the Rovers proved that. And frankly, it's very much felt like they've been subtly hinting at Peter and Leanne for the past two years but it's amounted to nothing.
What was the point of that 'I get it, you just want to spend time with me!", the false alibi, the recent scenes at Number 1, the Christmas scene where she stops Peter from drinking + 1000 other scenes. And her obvious upset at him marrying Toyah. Why tease us with those scenes writers if you were never gonna do anything?
If they want to go down the boring/depressing Peter/Carla and Leanne/Nick route of 2012 - 2014 again where all four characters were so miserable then they can be my guest. But at this point I really have lost interest. Corrie showed such promise at the start of the year but it's becoming unwatchable again.
Fantastic actor* I meant sorry.
ReplyDeleteGroan....
ReplyDeleteI liked Ben Price so I'm okay with this. I just wish they paired him with someone new. Someone with a bit of brains and class for a change. Putting him with vulgar women like Leanne and Carla are the reason why he always had to play the straight man to their antics. That's what's boring.
ReplyDeleteToyah was ruined by the idiotic baby obsession but she used to be an awesome character. Perhaps she and Nick could become a couple, that'd be a rest from all the other trashy ones.
