Flashback to The World of Coronation Street in Blackpool

One of our Twitter followers asked for a post on The World of Coronation Street which was at Blackpool. And not wanting to disappoint a request, here we go - well, with what I can remember! Do please feel free to leave any of your own memories about the place in the comments below.

The World of Coronation Street was a themed attraction which was set up on the seafront at Blackpool in 1996, opposite the famous pleasure beach.

The exhibit included imitation copies of the Street and the Rovers Return, and set reproductions chronicling the history of the programme since 1960.

Did you go? Can you remember what it was like inside?

I'm afraid that my memories of it are a little bit hazy. I went on a visit with a group of Corrie fans when we all met up in Blackpool for the weekend a l-o-n-g time ago. I remember a dodgy B&B, lots of drinking and er, not much else. But I do remember we made the pilgrimage to the attraction on the seafront and sadly, we came out more than a little disappointed.

  2. I remember ringing the door bell on the replica fronts of the houses, and hearing the characters that lived in that house.
