First look: Coronation Street films Christmas storylines

Each week on the official ITV Corrie twitter feed they post a few spoiler pictures from behind the scenes, showing what they've been filming that week.  This week they posted this wonderful peek into the future with a scene featuring Dev and Angie in Dev's corner shop.

But just look at it! It's already decorated with tinsel and bows and all kinds of Christmas stuff. Which makes me wonder what else is being filmed for this year's Christmas episodes. Hmm... I wonder?

Does anyone know if this year's Christmas episodes will still be those under Kate Oates' tenure or will they be new producer Iain MacLeod?

  1. Kate Oates' departure was announced on 24 April. The leaving party was on 30 June. By then details would probably have been fairly fixed up to about the end of September. I think we will be seeing Macleod credited within a couple of weeks from now.

  2. I thought Angie would have been gonzo by then.

  3. I was on a Corrie tour and one of the Senior writers was our guide. He told us that the writers do the story approx six months ahead of time. The filming is three months ahead of what we see. That why when someone has to leave the show quickly their leaving is usually not handled well in the current plot.
