For Coronation Street's 50th anniversary back in 2010 we had the live episode and the tram crash. There was a book released for Corrie's golden anniversary and a DVD box set too. There was an an official magazine produced and a party on the cobbles for the press (sadly, it wasn't open to fans).
You can have a look back at some of the events and promotions around Corrie's 50th anniversary here.
Anyway, the reason for looking back at the 50th anniversary is that my thoughts are turning to the year 2020 when Coronation Street celebrates its 60th anniversary. It'll be the Diamond Anniversary but what would YOU like to see happen for this milestone in the life of our favourite show - both on and off the screen?

Hopefully not something which involves death. The 40th anniversary was great because it made something that is a Corrie icon, ie the cobbles, central to the plot. It's a bit random I know but I would like them to write something clever that uses the history of the programme rather than stunts and special effects.
ReplyDeleteA few returns would be nice, but as long as it's entertaining, I don't mind what happens plot-wise.

ReplyDeleteI have all the different decade box sets of Coronation Street from the 1960s right up to the 2000s. Now that the 2010s are coming to an end, they should make a DVD box set for 2010-2019. I hope they will also publish a book of the 60th annivesary to add to my 40th and 50th anniversary collection.
