Coronation Street episode review, Weds 4 July, 8.30pm

David has proposed to Shona and when we rejoin Corrie, she has not replied. She is cynical, as you would be as they have not long got back together. "Not now," is her point.

The boring sex crazed couple that is Michelle and Robert are locked in the freezer and are starting to resemble fish fingers. Leave them in there! Daniel and Kate find the frozen pair and they are really icy when they get out. Robert seems to be fine in just a t shirt, whereas Michelle is looking like she is going to burst into "Let It Go."

Meanwhile Ryan has been hit by Sarah, as Bethany has fled from him, with a panic attack. Poor kid, she is not over previous trauma and has had a massive panic attack. Ryan realises he has hurt his head (took him a while) and he falls over. Another NHS patient to fill the overcrowded Weatherfield wards!

Peter comes into the Rovers and thanks Toyah for helping Eccles the dog who has been poisoned. Simon realises it's Tyler, the thug who is the culprit.

Corrie must keep the NHS in patients. Jack is in hospital and Sophie feels racked with guilt. Jack lies in bed, unconscious.

David is in a mardy and does not react to the news that Bethany has fled from a scene. Toyah visits the Barlows to see how Eccles is doing. Well, that's her cover, really she has come round to help Simon. She offers a cottage for Simon to stay in so that he can escape and unwind. Ken takes her up on it and says he will take Simon.

Michelle and Robert arrive home and find daft Ryan out cold. An ambulance is called and not sure they will have a bed, but Michelle panics. As I think she is not what sure what son he is - are you?

Bethany comes clean on why she fled. And meanwhile at the hospital, Kevin and Sophie are both distraught. Ali advises them to speak to a specialist. What is a GP doing there? He gives them bits of info and then says you need to speak to the doctor.

Toyah tells Mary about her day, with Eccles and they both realise how much the Barlows love that little dog. Mary speaks about her childhood with the family cat and Toyah begins to glaze over.

Daniel and Kate go back to the pub where she gets news of Ryan's injury. Toyah speaks to Peter about the cottage and he says this is separate to the sale of the pub and that he won't be bought. Toyah asks if they can be civil to one another. Peter agrees but says they cannot be friends.

Bethany decides to go and find Ryan to apologise. And David and Shona argue about the non-wedding, as she wants him to seek help and advice. She wants him but only when the time is right.

Bethany and Craig catch up and make amends. They spot an ambulance and Michelle gets in. Ryan is being taken to hospital. Craig asks  Bethany if she did it and the ambulance soars away.

Packed with drama and more hospital visits, than there are for whole month on one street. But, it is getting better!

  1. The moment they both went into that freezer, I was shouting at the tv set: "You fools! Have you not heard the cautionary tale of Anne Malone!"
Sadly, this time around it did not have such a satisfying ending ...

  3. I don't think Ali is a GP. He is a trainee and I seem to remember he got a placement at the hospital after leaving Rosamund Street Medical Centre.

  4. But he has nothing to do with Jack's case, so shouldn't be discussing it with the family. Just as Liz should have been fired for disclosing confidential health centre information about Susie to Johnny.
