Senior Assistant Editor – Coronation Street - 6 Mth FTC

We are currently looking for an Senior Assistant Editor to join our Post Production team to provide operational and technical support to our AVID suites, production, freelancers and fellow members of staff. This is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
As Senior Assistant Editor you will be a key link between editorial, production and post production. You may be required to edit or amend sequences and should be operationally confident in doing so. Also working closely with the Post Production manager and technical teams to devise and develop workflows to increase efficiencies and working practices. You will use your industry knowledge to train and develop the junior members of the team.
As our Senior Assistant Editor, you will have previous experience of working in a similar role within a post production facility with extensive knowledge of post production, workflows and broadcast requirements. You will be fully conversant in working with current technologies, such as Production Asset Management (PAM) systems and media management including; Backup, Archive & Deletions.
Resilient, flexible and highly organised, you will have experience in working in a fast paced, ever changing post production environment. You will also have the ability to work autonomously seeing projects through to completion, and will have a sharp eye for detail.
Long and/or unusual hours are not uncommon and although normally scheduled in advance, short notice requests are required on occasions. The position will require working to the department’s schedules which may include some weekend working to meet production requirements
