Louis Emerick is leaving Coronation Street
Now this is sad news. I was overjoyed when it was announced that Louis Emerick was joining Coronation Street, but this week we found out that he's leaving.
So soon? Well, Louis said on Twitter this week that he was only ever signed up for a three month stint on the show.
However, the door is being kept open for him, he says, which rules him out as Phelan's next victim, at least!
I do hope he'll come back. Liz seems happy having him around, which is great and there's definite chemistry between them.
Find out who else is leaving, joining, returning, or taking a break from Coronation Street

What was the point of having him join then?
ReplyDeleteA three month stint...and we've seen him, what, three times? Nice work if you can get it.
ReplyDeleteWe’ve only seen him a few times in Canada but he has made no impression on me at all. Not sorry to see him go.
ReplyDeleteAnon 2 - hardly, they only get paid when they appear.
ReplyDeleteLots of Corrie characters/actors seem to have a short initial contract, which makes sense. It also makes sense that they or their agents look for more jobs so they are working steadily. If they were good/liked/had potential, they’re brought back. I like Puddles and hope he comes back.
ReplyDeleteWho is Lou? We didn't have time to get to know this character at all, other than he tried to charm the pants off Liz. (Not hard to do)..Ho hum...could we have her not throw herself at the first single guy we see on the street? It'd be nice if Liz had a little more substance to her as well besides meeting mates for a glass of vino.
ReplyDeleteIf we as fans would like to see certain actors brought back, and the actors themselves are keen to come back, what is the best course of action? Do we need to lobby ITV Corrie?
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking of Martin Platt/Sean Wilson Ellie? Cos I would LOVE to see him back on a permanent basis. About time we had some good "manly men" on the Street.
ReplyDeleteYes, Sean Wilson. I think he wants to come back too. The Platt family need someone sane as the head of their family haha. I'd love to see him back as the stint he did was far too short and David needs him!
DeleteI hope that he returns & they develop his character. As I tell my riders, "You didn't ever warm the seat!!"
ReplyDeleteI might have to tweet ITV Corrie and say I/we want him back!
ReplyDeleteThink we should keep him in and Martin should come back as well
