There's a story in today's Mirror which says Jim McDonald is returning to Coronation Street.  It appears from details online that Jim will on Steve's wedding day to Tracy Barlow.

Steve's getting married again? Oh yes - have a look here.

Actor Charles Lawson, who plays Jim, says: “They wanted me back full time this year but I couldn’t do it as I am doing Rebus on stage (find out  more on that here), and a thriller.

"I’m going to film a bit but then will be back again next year.

A Corrie spokesman said: “Jim is such a hugely popular character. We’re delighted he is coming back for what will be a typically explosive Jim storyline.”

  2. He always struck me as a bit of a bully, not to mention an armed robber.

  3. This is the worst news ....... EVER! Why re hash a has been? They're are plenty of new characters that never get chance to establish themselves. Why not use them? I'm so disappointed in this. He's had his day, long ago. Please leave Jim McDonald where he belongs. In the past. Or even let Andy suffer him in Spain, surely it's his turn now to put up with his old man

  4. Very disappointing news. A seriously irritating character. Liz is a much more interesting character when he’s not around.

  6. Jim is such a predictable character. I would much rather watch Liz interact with the cheerful, educated Mike rather than the morose Neanderthal Jim.

  7. I agree with you Jan. Mike's a breath of fresh air and it's great to see him taking good care of Liz, who has had her share of bad men. Jim is a bad man, a bully, a criminal. She is better off without him and so is Corrie.
