Coronation Street episode review, Weds 7 March, 8.30pm

Who knew that Tim would be able to stitch up Phelan? Eileen insists on speaking to Phelan, even though he has admitted on ripping off locals? What is she planning?

Ty, Sean and Gemma discuss the girls in the Bistro, as Fiz thinks their behaviour has improved.

Eileen speaks to Phelan when he gets in and confronts him with what she knows, which is next to nothing really, compared with what he has been up to since. Phelan tries to worm his way out of it and implicates Todd. Eileen, tiger mum seems upset that Phelan "dragged" her son into the mess. What about the rest? Come on, Eileen!

Ty is in love with Gemma but Fiz is convinced that Chez is her ideal guy. He is, so instead we are going to see another home wrecked.

Phelan keeps blaming Vinny and admits that he "paid then what I could." Will Eileen cry and forgive him? He talks about his love for her and Eileen gets up and walks away.

In brighter news, Carla and Roy are reunited and this is the love story to end all love stories. There is chemistry here that screen couples would beg for and I love the bones of this pair.

Phelan drones on and Eileen sees through it all and rings the police. I am joking. Instead, she shouts and refers to things she thinks she knows. But she is still stood there. Go! Walk put the door, just turn around now...... sing the rest if you want, Eileen is still there!

Phelan describes this as a "huge relief" and that "there are no more secrets." Eileen puts on her parker that resembles Anna's when she was on the run (You know, the Liam Gallagher one!) And she slams the door and does not look back in anger.

Zeedan spots Kana wandering through the cobbles and feels down before a bout of training. Sally tries to put the Carla/Michelle stunt behind her. And then Carla comes back. Sally tells her that she knows what she did and that Tim heard everything. It feels out of character for Carla to be honest.

Eileen tells Liz what she knows. Poor Liz, she hates Phelan and has had her fair share of liars. But Eileen is so thick skinned, how do you get through to her? She tells her she will stick by her. And Eileen decides to report Phelan and Todd.

Carla tries to convince Sally that she is interested. But Sal says no and sends her packing. Methinks, they might stay.

Jude and Angie discuss finances, and with her new found accounts work for Cobbles folk, does this mean they will hang around?

Liz and Eileen sit in the police station, and they discuss their success (nottt!) with men. So naive is our Eileen that she says: "I hope he doesn't go to prison." Phelan turns up and says he has "come to confess." She is for turning, I think (again!)

Zeedan is still hurting and thinks about whether he can keep going through the fascade of the sham marriage.

Fiz and Gemma chat about Chesney. Meanwhile Chez is swaying after two lager tops. Ty defends Gemma again and Fiz doesn't see it.

Phelan asks "Where do we go from here?" Well you're both at home, so I guess it plods on and on. Eileen asks to Phelan to promose he will not tell any lies. And like Trump he will will continue to tell them.

Phelan lives to fight another day and I suspect Eileen will be on his hit list real soon. When will she wise up? When it's too late, I'll wager!

Until next week, see you in Roy's rolls for a chip barm!

  1. I'd forgotten how much I dislike Fiz with her simpery, wimpery whiny voice. Why can't she just speak normally?!
