Coronation Street filming on location by the sea

Coronation Street are filming this week in Whitehaven, West Cumbria. The local paper from the area reports that crews for the soap have been setting up on Whitehaven harbourside, near the town's lighthouse. It is believed filming will take place throughout this week.

ITV caravans and vans have taken over Wellington Pit car park on the harbourside while the path towards the lighthouse has been closed

An ITV sign, on the barrier blocking the road, reveals filming will take place behind that point.

One Whitehaven resident said the soap's producers had been for a recce on the harbourside before Christmas.  Ooh! Intriguing.

  1. It looks as though this might be in preparation for filming Phelan's possible demise. Other pictures released today show him on a boat apparently having an argument with Eileen and brandishing a rope.
