Coronation Street director arrested on suspicion of 'grooming a girl online'


Coronation Street director Tim Dowd has been arrested on suspicion of grooming a girl online.  

The Mirror today reports that Mr Dowd was held at his home in Keswick by police, on suspicion of enticing a child into sexual activity.  He was questioned by police after the online “youngster” turned out to be an undercover cop

And the Mirror goes on to say that Corrie bosses have confirmed that Mr Dowd is no longer was working on the show.

West Yorkshire Police said: “A man was arrested on suspicion of an internet grooming offence. He has been released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing.”

An ITV spokesman said: "As a police investigation is underway, we are not in a position to comment."
