Brookside's Mick joins Corrie as Liz McDonald's new man
I couldn't be more happy about this news!
Louis Emerick, who played Mick Johnson in Brookside is joining Coronation Street as Liz McDonald's new fella.
ITV confirms today that Louis will first appear as Mike Thornberry next month when he turns up in the Rovers and takes a shine to Liz McDonald. Steve is unimpressed when Liz starts flirting with Mike, and horrified when she suggests he might be able to give his old teacher a job driving a cab.
Former Brookside and Last of the Summer Wine actor Louis begins filming next week and will be on screen initially for a few months.
He said: "I am chuffed to bits to be joining the cast of Corrie, I first appeared in the show in 1986 as a delivery man, it’s only taken me 32 years to be invited back! I can’t wait to start working alongside Simon and Beverly who I have known for years, it’s going to be a lot of fun."
Wonderful news indeed.

Not heard of him. Looks a wee bit young to have been one of Steve's schoolteachers unless that's an old photo.
ReplyDeleteLooked it up and he was born in 1963 so he simply looks good for his age.
DeleteThis is great news but reminds me how brilliant Brookside was before it was ruined by too many sensational storylines. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news - sounds like it could be fun!!
ReplyDeleteSo he comes to the street in need of a job from Steve? Do not have high hopes for where this is heading. What a waste of a good actor. You deserve better Louis. How long will you walk the cobbles before they turn you into a murderer, rapist, thief or some other type of deviant.
ReplyDeleteAh Thanku for your compliment+concern,I'm sure @Corrie and Liz will take good care of me!😉x
