Shayne Ward, who plays Aidan Connor in Coronation Street, is leaving the show.
Coronation Street producers are now working on a exit storyline for Shayne which will air in late spring.
A Coronation Street source told us today that Shayne will leave at the end of his current contract and that Aidan Connor will be on screen for a further six months.

Are they making room in the Connor Cupboard for Carla?
ReplyDeleteWow seems like everyone is jumping ship one way or another. Sad to see Aidan's character leave. Won't be sad to see the back of Pat Phelan however, nor the back of Colin. Corrie's story lines have not been great lately. Sally's sister is annoying. Mary's daughter in law is annoying. Nicola story line is ridiculous not sure why Corrie insists on creating male character's who cheat, lie and commit all kinds of mayhem. The women don't fare much better either. Corrie just isn't what it used to be anymore.

ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be nice to read that the Pat Phelan character is leaving Coronation Street
The sooner Pat Phelan leaves The Street the better. I have never liked his character and a getting tired of him always getting away with stuff. Will he ever get caught and pay the price for all he has done?
ReplyDeleteNever had any use for Aidan, he always came off as an incompetent lummox. Not evil, just immature and stupid. I do hope he and Eva reconcile enough to at least get him some of his cash back. If she sold that ridiculous car, half of the proceeds would be a year’s rent. Wish SW well on his next venture.
ReplyDeleteMeh.
ReplyDeleteAll the characters that could make the show interesting are gone or going. But boring story lines are all the rage for the Cory boss.
ReplyDeleteThe show is getting so bad that ken will commit suicide and none of us will watch it.
The headlines are screaming, fans won't see it coming. Um yes. yes they will because the headlines are screaming it. I reckon this might be the storyline Kate Oates was saying that scares her? I could speculate but why bother? Aidan isn't a character I ever really connected with anyway.
ReplyDeleteI for one am gutted.......
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your future ventures Shayne, you were great in Rock of Ages.
Well he didn't last long. I think his character had good potential. He was a good all round guy. I think him and Eva would have had tremendous longevity on the show had they stayed together. However, corries' tendency to only provide extreme situations stretched out for an eternity would have made this impossible anyway.
ReplyDeleteCoronation street is just too depressing these days, it used to be a reasonably harmless family show. Now the sick and unrealistic story lines have been taken so far we have chosen as a family not to watch it. Everyone should refuse to watch this evil bunch of rubbish until the writers and producers are all sacked.

I am not surprised so many good characters are leaving the rubbish Pat Phelan story has overshadowed everything. Boring and depressing!
