Behind every famous ITV face, there are hundreds of others, all doing their bit to make things happen. This is where the magic behind television begins and where our team work hard to design, prepare and dress our sets in line with fast moving filming schedules.
As a Production Buyer for Coronation Street you will be working as part of a Buying team within the Design Department, fulfilling the creative aspirations of the Head of Design, you must have experience locating key props from a range of sources to meet the needs of the filming unit. The prop requirements can vary massively meaning no day is ever the same. Demonstrable experience managing a Production budget, meeting tight deadlines, negotiating prices for hiring / purchasing of props is a must, and you must understand the requirements and demands for props and dressings on set.
You will pride yourself on your ability to build strong internal and external relationships, as this will be a key element of your role. It is essential that our Production Buyer has strong knowledge of TV production with excellent computer skills and is passionate about the arts and antiques and an interest in period styles would be a distinct advantage. You will be required to understand the character profiles when choosing relevant props.
Our Corrie site at MediaCityUK is the only single television production facility of its kind in the world, something we're rightly very proud of.
