The Archers' Louiza Patikas joins Coronation Street
Louiza Patikas is joining the cast of Coronation Street.
Louiza is best known for her portrayal of Helen Archer in long-running radio drama The Archers.
She will make her debut on the cobbles in July playing Moira, office manager at Weatherfield Medical Centre.
We’ll first see Moira when Liz gets a job as a receptionist at the surgery, but Liz fails to hit it off with her boss, as a forthright and feisty Moira looks set to ruffle more than a few feathers
Louiza said: "I'm cock-a-hoop to be working on Coronation Street. It's a fantastic show which I've always loved for its superb writing and iconic characters”.
Producer Kate Oates said: “I'm so excited to welcome Louiza to Corrie. Louiza is no stranger to long-running drama; but as Moira, viewers will get to see another side to her - and enjoy her amazing talent for comedy."

No!! I want Liz to at least stay as Pub manager she belongs behind the bar
ReplyDeleteHuh?! Liz at the Medical Centre? Sounds like a lot less screen time for her. Weird. I hope she doesn't tone down her dress style too much.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with Louiza as a screen actor, but welcome to her!
This doesn't sound like the right job for Liz. I could see her using her share of the pub sale money to open a dress shop or something not become a receptionist at a clinic. Wasn't that what Gail did?
ReplyDeleteYes, and Gail had no concept of confidentiality. She was fired for gossiping, or at least leaking information. Totally the wrong job for Liz, who's always run her own business. She can't be far off retirement age anyway, but nobody retires. Audrey is in her 70s, as is Norris, with Rita in her 80s!
ReplyDeleteyou're right.... i guess Ken is the only older character who has retired on the street?
DeleteIs this a guest role or is she going to be a regular Character?
ReplyDeleteI hope this means we'll see an expansion of the role of The Lady Doctor. I like The Lady Doctor.
ReplyDeleteme too! i always enjoy her little scenes
