Michelle Collins hints at Coronation Street return

Speaking to The Sun online at last night's BAFTA TV Awards, Michelle Collins hinted that she wouldn't say no to returning to Coronation Street.

During her time on Corrie Michelle's character Stella Price was shoe-horned into a number of major storylines – including being revealed as the biological mother of Leanne Battersby, and being trapped in the Rovers when it went up in flames – before her character left the cobbles for a new life in New York.

“Would I return to Corrie? Not at the moment, but never say never. I couldn’t say I wouldn’t do it again.”

Away from Corrie, Michelle told The Sun that she is keeping herself busy.

“I’m producing a short film at the moment and I’m really busy and I’ve got my fingers in lots of pies,” she said.

Well, this fan says let's hope her fingers stay in those pies and she doesn't get her hands on the hot pots again.

  1. Agreed, and good luck to Michelle Collins wherever else she goes. Standard response, though, 'never say never'. While we're on the subject, I would like to see Leanne's step-mother return and it would make much more sense now that Toyah's on the Street. I'd love to see Eva really bonding with her.

  2. No to a Stella comeback and no to Janice Battersby too! Nightmare!

  3. I would be open to Janice returning for a short stint. She's got strong ties to a number of characters and it would make sense for her to show up for a visit when Leanne and Toyah are going through such major life changes. Maybe she could be the one to knock some sense into Toyah and remind her of what she used to be like.

  4. St Ella of the backroom needs to stay far away from Coronation Street.

  5. That's not a hint at a return, that's just her saying she wouldn't say no. No one has offered anything I'd bet.

She can stay right where she is!

  6. I liked Stella. I also liked the grandmother.
But I think she was mishandled by producers in that she was everywhere all the time.

  7. I wouldn't mind to see Stella return and meet her grandson Oliver.
I think Leanne needs her mum's support as she's alone dealing with Nick's emotional abuse towards her and his obessive possessiveness of Oliver.
Even though Toyah has returned,I wouldn't want to see Janice back as she's a nasty character who revels in the misery of others.

  8. Please, don't let Stella ever set foot in the Rovers again. Wouldn't say no to a brief visit from Janice though.

  9. I saw Michelle Collins in an episode of Death in Paradise. Her character was vile and subsequently murdered, it was delightful but only because I thought of Stella while it was happening. I don't ever want to see this character on the street again.

  10. I'd enjoy a visit from Stella and Janice, but not a long one.

  11. Why does everyone dislike Stella so much? I don't get it....

  12. It would be great to see Stella back on screen. Outside of the Rovers, she could be an interesting character with good story potential.

  13. Sometimes this is translated as "I haven't had a lot of offers so I would come back if they asked me" and sometimes it's "You never know when the work will dry up so I'm just letting them know that I'd come back if they wanted me to" and also "I need to get my name in the media, it hasn't been for awhile". a number of ex Corrie stars have done the same thing! ;)
