Denise Black is returning to Coronation Street as Daniel's mum Denise Osbourne.
And in an interview with the Manchester Evening News this week, she talks about her return to the show and her feelings on how it's changed since she was in it last.
Denise told the MEN: “Sometimes I long for the old days. I talk to Bill Roache and I know he feels the same. Coronation Street was a kitchen sink drama about the working class in Salford and now it’s not so local.
“I remember a scene with Betty and Raquel leaning on the bar of the Rovers, but it is what it is and times have changed. We live in a faster, shinier society now. My friend wrote an episode about Emily Bishop and her budgie.”
Denise played Denise Osbourne in Corrie on and off from 1992 until 1996. She had an affair with Ken which resulted in a son, Daniel. She then reprised her role in 2007.
Most recently she played Joanie in Emmerdale.
Denise is currently starring in the play Winter Hill at Bolton Octagon from Thursday May 11 to Saturday June 3.
