Yesterday evening, a vigil was held for Martyn Hett, the Coronation Street fan who was among those killed in the Manchester bomb attack last week. The vigil was attended by thousands of people. It's impossible to put it into words, and so I'll let these pictures do the talking.
The above picture is from Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays Gemma Winter in Coronation Street.
Dolly-Rose holds the letter N in the image above. Holding the letter O between them are Corrie producer Kate Oates and Gilly Walsh, who worked for many years as Corrie make-up artist. She is now working at Hollyoaks.
This is the image which Martyn's brother Dan posted to twitter: Dan Hett @danhett
"here is what my family can see right now".
Our blogger Stevie Dawson took the picture above and the one below.
The following twitter pictures are from @furquan who worked for many years as a storyliner at Coronation Street.
A rainbow even appeared...
And Julie Hesmondhalgh, who played Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, posted this picture to twitter: @juliehes Honoured to be at his fabulous feet. Beautiful night of celebrating a life lived to the full #BeMoreMartyn

What a fantastic tribute to Martyn! By the way, is that Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan) far left in the top picture?
ReplyDeleteWow, that's fantastic. It's beyond sad that this had to take place at all. But what a beautiful tribute.
