Comedian Vic Reeves to join Coronation Street

The Sun broke the news that comedian Vic Reeves was going to join the cast of Coronation Street and it's been confirmed by ITV as reported by Digital Spy this morning. He'll be playing a television presenter called Colin. It will be a short term stay and will involve characters Norris and Mary. You may have noticed that Norris has drawn Mary back into entering competitions and it seems the storyline will relate to that.

Appearing in Corrie has been a lifelong dream for the popular comedian. "I'm really looking forward to acting in Corrie. It's a real thrill to be part of a British institution." he says.

Vic will start filming in July and be on screen for up to 3 months from the end of summer. Vic is well known for such series as Monkey Pants, Vic Reeves Big Night Out, and Vic & Bob's Afternoon Delights. You can see all of his writing and acting stints here on his IMDB entry.

  1. Oh no, really? Why? and why so long?

His last appearance on TV (Comic Relief I think it was) he was absolutely dire.

  2. Not looking forward to this
The powers that be obviously learned nothing from when they had Paddy McGuiness on the programme

  3. This guy really isn't funny. I only hope it's a few episodes and that he plays the straight guy, not the funny man
