Want to be a soap writer? Join the writing soap operas panel

If you're aspiring to be a soaps writer, then the Pilot Light TV festival might be a good place for you to start your research.

The festival takes place in Manchester and includes a panel aimed at writers looking to understand what it's like to be in the writing rooms of popular soap operas.

You will discover what being in a writers' room is like and how it compares to working in film or other drama.

This panel will feature Verity MacLeod (Script Editor, Coronation Street), Lisa Gifford (Writer, Eastenders) and Cardy O'Donnell (Writer on Doctors, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks).

Full details and ticket information is here.

It takes place on Friday 5th May at 10.30am in Manchester Central Library.
