Coronation Street spoiler: Craig Tinker turns copper
It's been a long time in the coming but Craig Tinker looks set to start his training as a police constable, finally.
In this pictures from next week's Coronation Street we see Craig in the Rovers Return sporting his new police uniform. He's waiting in the pub to meet his new tutor constable. Mum Beth must be as proud as punch of her boy and Sean behind the bar looks like he's a bit overcome by the sight of a man in a uniform.
After Craig's application to join the police was almost scuppered by mum Beth when she was about to put the form into the bin, it's nice to see Craig finally do something he's always wanted to do.
First case? Crack the mystery of who attacked Ken, I hope!

Good on him! I look forward to this storyline. Colson is such a good actor.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be a great surprise if it turned out that his new tutor constable was Emma Watts and her and Curly were back together and living nearby, thereby heralding his return! he he

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to him in uniform but this is a recent dream, perhaps born from seeing Kylie murdered before his eyes.
ReplyDeleteBefore, he wanted to be an artist and was quite talented.
Craig's first success might be rumbling Nathan.
ReplyDeleteLovely. Craig is a great character played by a very natural actor - I hope this means we will see his role evolve and his appearances increase. How old is Craig supposed to be now? I'd say 18 or 19? Time to give him a meaty storyline of his own!
ReplyDeleteHe's 18. He celebrated his 18th last year
DeleteLooking forward to this story for Craig. I'd like to see his tutor constable be a real hunk and sweep Leanne off her feet! The two coppers could solve Ken's attack, save Bethany and arrest Shona's thugs! And then in a big hero moment put Phelan in the nick!! Which brings steph back and everyone mourns Andy properly.
ReplyDeleteEryn, I like your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will lead to some good storylines for Craig. I always enjoy seeing him on screen. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't dull him down like the rest of Werherfield's Finest. And I hope he continues with his art. Oooh, and now that he has a job, maybe he could room with Luke and really become one of the lads instead of Beth's little boy. He looks great in that uniform.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be a spoilsport but this has all happened too quickly, it takes much longer to become a policeman. And Beth's criminal record would have gone against him anyway. Also "tutor constables" are known as puppy walkers.
ReplyDeleteNot since Emma (Curly's wife) have we had a cop living on the street. So happy! I love the character of Craig, and although Beth was originally compared to Cilla she is actually an awesome Mom to Craigy. Great move there Kate Oates!!!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThe Morton girl (I forget her name) was also a newly-qualified police officer.
DeleteI thought Ruby's mother (and Tyrone's partner) was a copper. She was more recent that Emma.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the police can't punish Craig for Beth's criminal record. After all, it's hardly his fault. The main thing is that she should declare it, as with Craig's Dad being in prison?
ReplyDeleteI do hope he continues with his art in some way, but it's not an easy field to find steady employment, so his joining the police makes sense. Not just as a steady job, but because he wants to so something useful. He felt so helpless when he couldn't save Kylie.
I stand corrected Popcorn. Kirsty was indeed a police officer. I forgot about her until you mentioned her. :-)
ReplyDeleteFinally - something to look forward to, after all the gloom and doom we have had to endure. Craig is a lovely lad and I am so pleased that a young character on the street is doing something besides working in the factory or the Rovers.
ReplyDeleteHe is no copper. It takes much training craig was a copper within a few months. Specials do more training than he done. Also police officers don't walk about in uniform when off duty like craig.
