Faye Brookes and Gareth Gates launch their performing arts academy

Faye Brookes, who plays Kate Connor in Coronation Street, is launching a performing arts academy along with her partner, the singer Gareth Gates.

Faye and Gareth have opened Fates Academy in Manchester to teach singing, acting and dance to aspiring young performers.

Faye said: “There was nothing like this drama school around when I was that age and setting this up is a dream of mine. And working so close by makes it easier to bring people from Corrie in to do masterclasses. I would love my co-stars to come in and it’s definitely something we can look at doing. I hope that we can inspire the next generation of Coronation Street stars.”

Fates Academy is based at University Technical College in MediaCityUK.
