Coronation Street's Bruno Langley, who plays Todd Grimshaw, swapped the cobbles for The Christie to spread a little Valentine’s Day cheer yesterday.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Bruno visited the hospital to perform a few love songs and handed out heart shaped cookies to patients.
Bruno is a friend of The Christie and has visited the specialist cancer centre on numerous occasions. He was given a huge round of applause from patients and staff at the end of his performance at the site in Withington.
A Christie spokeswoman said: “It was a really lovely afternoon. He approached us to ask if he could perform. It was a random act of kindness. Valentine’s Day is a tough time to be in hospital so he wanted to spread a lighter mood.”

I see maybe two or three people really listening to him. some are staring into space, some looking at their feet and some staring at their phones. the lady with the ipad is the only one who is interested in Bruno and the guy on the guitar.
ReplyDeleteWhen entertainers come to hospitals unless they go to a designated concert area or to patient's bedsides they're just lightening the overall mood. Hospitals are especially gloomy on days like Valentine's when staff and patients really wish they were out of there.
DeleteIt was nice of them to go.
