In this week's Inside Soap magazine there's a good interview with Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street. Ben talks about Nick and Peter's punch-ups on the cobbles. He says that as he and Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter, aren't getting any younger, their fight scenes take a lot more effort.
Ben says: "Recently we spent eight hours filming a fight scene and we aren't getting any younger, so by the end of it we were quite tired of trying to hit each other!"
Nick's got much on his mind next week in Corrie after Simon is injured in a car accident as Nick and Peter are arguing. Simon turns out to be okay after a check-up in hospital but it really brings home to Peter how mich he loves Simon and wants to make peace with him.
Ben also says that his two children in real-life don't watch him on TV. "They're not particularly interested!" he says.

Don't Bobbies patrol on foot anymore? Why do people on Corrie never get their fights broken up by the police but they couldn't stop turning up on Maria's doorstep every other day with or without new clues.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember the last time I saw a bobby on the beat or a bobby on a bike. Not round this way anyway (East Anglia). It's all PCSO's now (police community support officer) who are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
ReplyDeleteNick should be 35 years old - not really too old for a рunch-uр! Unfortunately, he's being рlayed by the 105-year-old veteran actor Ben Рrice :)
